Hon. OLAWALE ASHIRU means positive paradigm shift and guarantees the 3Rs (Responsive Responsible Representation) at the OGHA Floor, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta as from June 2027
Nigeria as a country is suffering from seemingly intractable bad governance and retrogression, not because she “lacks good people” but “lack of good people” entering government and be part of governance. Nigeria adopts and operates a, “Three Arms” System of government comprising The Legislative, The Executive and The Judiciary. While the Legislative Arm is constitutionally saddled with the responsibility of “Making Laws”, the Executive Arm “Implements or executes the Laws” and the Judiciary “Interprets the laws”. So, the “Three Arms” complementarily act as “Checks and Balance” to one another and they all have their “arms” occupied with constitutional and statutory roles and responsibilities. But when each and or all of the “ARMS” abandon and abdicate their constitutional and statutory roles and responsibilities, the ugly retrogressive consequences are what have been bedeviling us.
Although the “Three Arms” are equally important but the one with the foundational constitutional and statutory roles and responsibilities is the “Legislative Arm” and it attests to the adage which says, “Where there are no laws, there are no offences”. And this is the reason why “Good and Credible People” must and should be sent to the “Legislative Chambers” from the local government Councilors, to the State House of Assemblies, Federal House of Representatives and Senate. And when these “Good and Credible People” are sent for the “Law Making tasks” the results are and will always be people-oriented and society-developmental bills and laws that will institutionalize sustainable good governance because it is founded and built on just and credible, sound and healthy, workable and acceptable, fair and unbiased bills and laws.
In view of the above, that we write to honestly and objectively introduce Hon. Olawale Ashiru, a Candidate for the Ijebu–Ode Constituency at the Ogun State House of Assembly under the ADC Political Party. Hon. Ashiru is young, energetic, vibrant, humane and urbane. He represents new breed of “good people” that should be allowed to “enter” government for real and impactful “Good Governance” and not merely the usual proverbial paltry slogan of the politicians which denotatively themed, “Dividends of Democracy” but connotatively coined, “Stomach Infrastructure”.
He is unassuming personality and credible candidate capable of ensuring positive paradigm shift and guarantees the 3Rs (Responsive Responsible Representation) in dire need by the Ijebuode Constituency at the OGHA Floor, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta as from June 2027 when the House will be inaugurated and sworn-in for daunting assignments and herculean legislative tasks for the next four years.

MANIFESTO OF OLAWALE ASHIRU- A PEOPLE-CENTERED AGENDA FOR A SAFER, SMARTER AND STRONGER IJEBU ODE
Introduction
My name is Olawale Ashiru, and I humbly present myself to the good people of Ijebu Ode Constituency as a candidate for the Ogun State House of Assembly under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). I am a Research Consultant, Financial Analyst, and Strategic Management Professional from Ijebu Ode, with an MSc in Finance (Distinction) from the University of Ibadan.
Through my professional work and my community-based initiatives, especially through, “The Ashiru Foundation”, I have remained committed to youth empowerment, educational support, grassroots development, and practical problem-solving. I am offering myself for service because I believe our Constituency deserves Responsive Responsible Representation (3Rs), practical legislation, accessible leadership, and a renewed focus on the real needs of our people. This manifesto is built on service, competence, accountability, and people-first representation.
MY VISION
“To provide responsive, responsible, intelligent, and compassionate representation for the people of Ijebu Ode by sponsoring impactful laws, strengthening Constituency support systems, promoting economic opportunities, and ensuring that government works better for ordinary people”
MY MISSION
“To serve as a voice for the people of Ijebu Ode in the Ogun State House of Assembly by advancing legislation and Constituency programs that improve public safety, education, healthcare, youth opportunities, accountability, and social welfare”
MY CORE PRIORITIES
PUBLIC SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION: The safety of our people must never be taken lightly. Repeated incidents and concerns around gas leaks and unsafe infrastructure in Ijebu-Ode require serious legislative attention. I will sponsor and support:
a. Underground Infrastructure Safety Bill: A bill to improve the regulation, inspection, monitoring, and safety standards of underground infrastructure, including cables-laying and gas-related systems and other hazardous installations, to protect lives, homes, and businesses in Ijebu Ode and Ogun State.
b. Independent Air Monitoring and Environmental Safety Initiative: I will push for the establishment of independent air quality and environmental monitoring stations in high-risk areas to detect gas leaks, air contamination, and other environmental hazards early enough for intervention.
c. Stronger Emergency Preparedness Advocacy: I will work with relevant agencies and stakeholders to improve public awareness, emergency response coordination, and preventive safety systems in communities that are vulnerable to industrial and environmental risks.
EDUCATION REFORM FOR PRACTICAL SKILLS AND THE FUTURE
Education must prepare our children not just to pass exams, but to succeed in the modern world. We cannot afford to leave our young people behind while other societies invest in technical knowledge, innovation, and practical competence. I will sponsor and advocate for:
a. Technical and Practical Education Development Bill: A bill to strengthen technical, vocational, practical, and innovation-based learning in public schools across Ogun State, with special attention to:
Ø Practical and technical skills training,
Ø Digital literacy and innovation exposure,
Ø Entrepreneurship education,
Ø Career-based learning pathways for students
b. School-to-Skills Support Initiatives: I will advocate for stronger partnerships between government, schools, technical institutions, private sector actors, and development organizations to equip students with practical skills that match the future of work.
c. Youth Readiness and Employability Programs: I will support constituency-level initiatives that expose young people to training, mentorship, internships, and opportunities that make them more employable and economically productive.
HEALTHCARE INNOVATION AND RESPONSIBLE INTEGRATION OF HERBAL MEDICINE Healthcare should be more accessible, culturally relevant, evidence-driven, and responsive to the realities of our people. Many citizens already rely on traditional and herbal medicine. Rather than ignore that reality, we should create a safer, more regulated, and more research-informed system. I will sponsor and advocate for:
a. Herbal Medicine Integration and Regulation Bill: A bill to support the responsible integration of certified herbal products and traditional medicine practices into the broader healthcare framework, subject to proper regulation, quality control, safety standards, and scientific validation where necessary.
b. Support for Research and Standardization: I will encourage policy conversations around collaboration between healthcare professionals, researchers, traditional medicine practitioners, and regulatory bodies to improve public confidence, patient safety, and local health innovation.
c. Community Health Awareness and Preventive Care Advocacy: I will support initiatives that improve public health education, preventive healthcare awareness, and access to useful health information at the community level.
A FUNCTIONAL CONSTITUENCY OFFICE THAT WORKS FOR THE PEOPLE
Representation must go beyond speeches and appearances. It must be accessible, structured, and useful to ordinary constituents. If elected, I will establish a more functional constituency office in Ijebu Ode with a practical service structure designed to respond to real needs. The Constituency Office will include three key support desks:
a. Legal Aid and Emergency Support Desk: A desk to help connect vulnerable constituents with basic legal support, referrals, and emergency case assistance where possible, especially for urgent welfare and justice-related concerns.
b. Employment and Opportunity Liaison Desk: A desk dedicated to sharing information on:
v Jobs Generation and Sustainable Wealth Creation (SWC) Opportunities,
v Skill Acquisition Programmes,
v Grants and empowerment opportunities,
v Youth Development Initiatives,
v Relevant government and private sector openings
c. Project Monitoring and Accountability Desk: A desk focused on monitoring public projects within the constituency, gathering feedback from residents, documenting abandoned or poorly executed projects, and ensuring that the concerns of the people are formally escalated to the appropriate authorities.
RESPONSIVE, RESPONSIBLE AND ACCESSIBLE REPRESENTATION
My representation will be built on:
ü Constant engagement, transparency, and listening to people’s yearnings and discernments;
ü Commit to regular engagement with constituents, community leaders, youth groups, women groups, professionals, and stakeholders;
ü Maintaining an open channel for constituency complaints, recommendations, and policy suggestions;
ü Giving periodic updates on legislative activities, motions, advocacy efforts, and
ü Constituency interventions thus ensuring that the office of the House of Assembly member is not distant from the people.
YOUTH, DEVELOPMENT WOMEN AND COMMUNITY
Our young people and women are central to the future of Ijebu Ode. I believe representation must deliberately create room for inclusion, empowerment, and support. I will support:
§ Youth empowerment and mentorship opportunities,
§ Educational support and Community Development Programmes,
§ Advocacy for more inclusive policies that benefit women, children, and vulnerable groups,
§ Initiatives that promote small businesses, local enterprise, and community-based economic participation
ACCOUNTABILITY, GOOD GOVERNANCE AND EFFECTIVE LEGISLATION
I am not going to the House of Assembly to occupy a seat. I am going there to work. My legislative approach will be guided by:
Evidence-based policy thinking,
Constituency consultation,
Transparency and accountability,
Strategic collaboration,
Measurable impact
I will study issues carefully, engage stakeholders, and push for laws, motions, and oversight actions that directly improve the lives of our people.
WHY I AM OFFERING MYSELF FOR SERVICE
I understand the pains, struggles, and hopes of our people. I know what it means for citizens to feel unheard, underserved, and disconnected from leadership. I also know that public office must be approached with humility, seriousness, competence, and compassion. I am a young candidate, but I come prepared with:
Professional experience in research, finance, and strategy;
A strong understanding of policy and development issues;
Community-based leadership experience;
A practical vision for representation;
The energy, discipline, and commitment to serve effectively
MY PLEDGE TO IJEBU ODE
If elected as your representative in the Ogun State House of Assembly, I solemnly pledge to:
Be accessible to the people,
Be intentional about legislation,
Be transparent in representation,
Be courageous in speaking for the constituency,
And be committed to the development, dignity, and future of Ijebu Ode
This Campaign is not just about politics. It is about service, problem-solving, and building a better future for our people.
CONCLUSION
The future of Ijebu Ode requires leadership that listens, understands, plans, and acts. It requires representation that is not merely symbolic, but effective. It requires someone who will not only speak for the people, but work for them. I, Olawale Ashiru, humbly seek your support, your prayers, and your votes as we begin this journey to build a SAFER, SMARTER, HEALTHIER, and more prosperous Ijebu Ode. Together, we can make representation work for the people again.
Hon. Olawale Ashiru
